What are the uses of PBT engineering plastics

PBT is one of the five general engineering plastics. Due to its heat resistance, weather resistance, drug resistance, good electrical properties, small water absorption and good gloss, PBT can meet the requirements of different plastic products through modification. It is widely used in the fields of electronic appliances, auto parts, machinery, household products and so on.

I. connector

The connector is a bridge between signals and an indispensable component for transmitting electronic signals and power connections. The balanced physical properties and price of PBT meet the needs of the connector. PBT is usually mixed with 30% glass fiber as a connector. PBT is widely used because of its mechanical properties, solvent resistance, good formability and low price.

II. Radiator fan

The second most important use of PBT is in the heat dissipation fan. The heat dissipation fan is placed in the machine for long-term rotation to help heat dissipation. The physical properties of plastic are required to have heat resistance, flame resistance, insulation and mechanical strength. PBT is usually used as the outer frame and leaf coil shaft of the heat dissipation fan in the form of 30% fiber addition.

III. coil shaft

The third use of PBT is as the coil shaft in the transformer and relay, which is generally formed by 30% injection of PBT plus fiber. The physical properties required for the coil shaft include insulation, heat resistance, welding resistance, fluidity, strength, etc. the applicable materials are phenolic resin, PBT, PA6, pet. The properties of phenolic resin are all good, but its formability is not as good as PBT. Therefore, PBT resin is used for products with small scale and disordered shape. Although PBT welding plutonium has poor heat resistance, Europe, America, Japan and other countries with high awareness of environmental protection have the trend of adding and selecting recyclable PBT.

IV. auto parts

PBT is also widely used in the automotive field. It is usually blended with PC to form an alloy for automotive components. Pc/pbt is commonly used in automotive bumpers. In addition, PBT can also be used for window motor housing, locomotive motor parts, automobile driver gear box, etc.
