High density polyethylene has excellent heat resistance and cold resistance, superior mechanical function to low density polyethylene, good dielectric function, but slightly lower than low density polyethylene, excellent wear resistance and chemical stability, capable of corrosion by a variety of acids, alkalis and salts, low water absorption and water vapor permeability, but poor aging resistance, high surface hardness and good dimensional stability.
Low density polyethylene has light weight. Very low moisture absorption, excellent electrical insulation function. Strong extensibility and visibility, good cold resistance and chemical stability, but poor strength and environmental aging resistance.
Polypropylene has light weight, no water absorption, excellent dielectric, chemical stability and heat resistance, good mechanical function, but poor light resistance, easy aging, poor low temperature resistance and dyeing function.
Polytetrafluoroethylene, commonly known as the king of plastics, has very high and low temperature resistance. Almost resistant to all chemicals, boiling in highly corrosive aqua regia does not change, and the friction coefficient is very low. It is not sticky, does not absorb water, and has good electrical function. It is a solid insulating material with the minimum dielectric constant and dielectric loss at present.
Unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (UPVC) plastic is often used to make waste gas drainage and detoxification towers in chemical, textile and other industries, as well as commonly used gas and liquid transmission pipes.
Polycarbonate, known as "Tongming metal", has excellent inductive function. Its impact resistance and ductility are the best among thermoplastics. It has high elastic modulus, is not affected by temperature, has good creep resistance, high dimensional stability, high visibility, can be dyed into various colors, has small water absorption and excellent insulation function.
